Stop be hoax slave

According to Werme (2016), hoaxes are false news that contain information that deliberately misleads people and has a certain political agenda. Hoaks are not just misleading, information in fake news also has no factual basis, but is presented as a series of facts. Today, hoaxes are fake news that often appears on the internet and has the aim to spread panic and mass fear. Activities carried out by a number of irresponsible persons. Especially with the development of technology, especially on smartphones and social media, the types of hoaxes on the internet are increasingly numerous and dangerous. If not careful, cyberspace users or netizens can easily be consumed by hoax hoaxes. In fact, it can even help to spread hoaxes, which of course would be very detrimental to victims of defamation. There are ways to anticipate or ward off hoax news.

The first,Be careful with provocative titles.
hoaxes usually use provocative and sensational titles in accordance with their purpose of provoking their readers. Often affixing provocative sensational titles, for example by directly pointing to certain parties. The contents are often quoted from other official media and adjusted to their needs. Therefore, if you encounter news with provocative titles, you should look for references in the form of similar news from the official online site, then compare the contents, whether they are the same or different. This way, at least the reader can reach a more balanced conclusion.

Secondly, take part in an anti-hoax discussion group.
On Facebook there are a number of anti-hoax fanpage and discussion groups, for example the Anti-Defamation, Hasut and Hoax (FAFHH) Forum, Indonesian Hoax Buster Fanpage & Group, Indonesian Hoaxes Fanpage, and the Lifeboat Group. In these discussion groups, netizens can join in asking whether an information is a hoax or not, as well as looking at the clarification that has been given by others. All members can contribute so that the group functions like crowdsourcing that utilizes the power of many people.

The government itself through the ministry of communication and information technology is promoting education and literacy programs for users of social media. This is important so that users can use responsibly and not be inundated with hoaxes or hate speech. In line with the program as a teacher who is the spearhead in education has a vital role in anticipating and combating hoax news.

As for,Check the facts.
Where does the news come from? Who is the source? Is it from an official institution such as the KPK or the National Police? if not, do not believe quickly if the information comes from activists, political figures, or CSO observers. Pay attention to the balance of news sources. If there is only one source, the reader cannot get the whole picture. Another thing to note is the difference between news that is based on facts and opinions. Facts are events that occur with testimony and evidence, because with the evidence it reinforces the results of the news while opinions are opinions and impressions of news writers so they tend to be subjective.

Therefore, we as a smart society we must be able to filter a news well and wisely. This means let us respond to an information or news, lest we are consumed with hoax news. Hold yourself if it is doubtful, then if necessary ask colleagues from the source of the news. Provide education about the dangers of hoax news. Finally say let's say "no" to hoaxes
